The Art of the Drape– Rinat Brodach

The Art of the Drape– Rinat Brodach

As we are approaching the middle of the summer my mind is starting to wander to designer websites and Fall fashion shows.  I know it’s 90 degrees out there but Fall is looming and so are the fashions.   My favorite season hands down is Fall.   Full of warm colors, sweaters, and new designers to look at.    I had the pleasure of meeting this artistic fresh new designer, Rinat Brodach this past March and just last weekend she was the headliner for The Face Magazine Fashion event to celebrate their 5th  issue.    Rinat, who hails from Isreal, knew from a young age what she wanted to do and has followed her dream of creating her own label.   Rinat has studied at the Academy of Art University  in San Francisco as well as the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris.

Rinat’s collection and Style are based on the art of the Drape.  The art of the Drape can date back to 3500 BCE an example of that time would be the Roman Toga.  A more modern designer Madame Gres was noted as the Queen of Drape.  This type of designing allows the designer to manipulate the fabric on a dress form or even a live model.   I just love the drape look it is great for all body types.   Rinat draws her inspiration from life events, music, art and family members.   Her latest collection was inspired by her Mother and all women who have faced Cancer.  Her use of certain fabrics depicts the deep emotion she was feeling while creating the line.

Rinat is off to a fantastic start as a new emerging designer and has shown her collection at New York Fashion Week and will continue to work with her clients from all over the globe.   For more information please visit
