It was only two weeks ago and a quick weekend to Chicago. I had never been there and was dying to taste the deep dish pizza. More about the Pizza in the food section. Since I live in the hot south the cool breeze from Lake Michigan was delightful. What a fantastic and clean city and this is coming from a New Yorker. I found the people to be so friendly and helpful with directions as well. We stayed at the cool and chic boutique Hotel the Gwen with its amazing views of the city from the Rooftop Bar and outdoor fire pits which add to the ambiance. The top things I recommend are the architectural boat tour which glides right through the center of the city; Next head over to the Art Institute of Chicago and then to the Parks; Of course, you must do some shopping on and off Michigan Avenue as well. There are some Great boutiques that even I have never heard of. Since our husbands were joining us an absolute thing for them was to take in a Cubs Ball game. The stadium was so charming and right int he middle of a very cool neighborhood. My last suggestion would be to take a Segway tour. Now at first, I was hesitant but then really got into it. It takes you to places that you might get tired on foot and with the Segway you breeze along. So Mezza Followers take in a bit of Chicago this summer!!! PS a quick thank you to my friend Karen who planned this entire trip….
