As a running theme this month on the Mezza, I am honoring Women. The Power woman in particular from the social scene in Hollywood to the fashion runways of Milan, Paris, and NYC, the power of the woman is evident. From the power suiting and menswear silhouettes to the power petals….The power woman is here. Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Lafayette 148 Spring/Summer 2018 show. What better inspiration than Georgia O’keeffe. An American artist who was best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers. The “Mother of American Modernism.” The Lafayette runway took her inspiration to create their line this season which was filled with beautiful florals, splashes of color and lots of blue hues. The line was quietly sexy with a hint of class as always. Besides florals, we saw stripes, and that bit of bling for daytime woven into blouses and sweaters. The cold shoulder from last season evolved into the detail sleeve of this season, wide leg pants also made the cut as well. Other colors were tangerine orange, lots of white, and olive green.
For more looks and fun with the Lafayette line please visit my friends, Mimi and Tish at Saks Fifth Avenue Atlanta Ga at the Lafayette Department. Mention to them that the Mezza sent you!!!! For shoes, this season target a white kitten heel or fun red wedge and let’s not forget again the shoe of the season…the sneaker!!!!
