Judy’s Clean Beauty Corner….It goes way beyond Organic
I am very excited to be introducing to our Mezza Guest Blogging Family, Judy Goldberg. Judy will be telling our Mezza followers about how to keep your skincare and cosmetics safe. When I first glanced at Judy’s business card the back of it contained over 45 plus ingredients that are on the NEVER LIST. I was so impressed by that and wanted Judy to share her story and her line with you. Here is her first post of what we are calling Judy’s Clean Beauty Corner:
Hi! My name is Judy Goldberg, and I want to tell you a little about myself. I was a stay-at-home mom for many years, raising four children. I divorced and remarried, and got two more great kids in the bargain! After the kids were almost grown, I started thinking about what I was going to do in the near future. At the same time, I started researching how to continue to keep my family healthy with more whole, organic foods. Thinking about what I was putting IN my body, I had never thought about what I was putting ON my body. It never occurred to me that I should clean up my act as far as what personal care products I was using. Then, the lightbulb went off. One day I was looking at Facebook and I saw that an acquaintance of mine had posted about some brand of “safe beauty”. Since I was already in the mode of cleaning up my act, I gave her a call, and she proceeded to tell me about a brand new beauty company that had just come out with a skincare and body line. Well, once she educated me about the all the toxins used in most of the beauty industry, and with some digging of my own, I knew that I had to change what I was using on my skin too. (When you know better…you do better!) This new company was called Beautycounter, and I immediately joined. I wanted to use and sell safer products and to join Beautycounter’s mission to get safe products in the hands of everyone. I looked at Beautycounter as a way to help myself, my family, and anyone else who was interested in using products that were safer for their health. I’ve got so much more to tell you-but really just wanted to introduce myself today. Next time we talk, I’ll tell you some more about how Beautycounter is changing lives with their non-toxic products, and also how we’re going to the legislature to better regulate personal care products which will keep us ALL safer, no matter the brand. Before I go, I’ll tell you about some of my favorite products in our line.
The company is constantly coming out with new products, both skincare, and makeup. In the skincare category, I love our newest line, which is called Countertime. It was formulated to do what the name says, counter time! Being a woman of a certain age, it’s important to me to be using skincare that’s going to address the issues I’m facing, like fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and loss of elasticity. (ugh!) I started using Countertime about 7 weeks ago, and I’m seeing a lot of improvement using this regimen! I also love our Tinted Moisturizer, which is called Dew Skin. It evens out my skin tone without a heavy feeling, and I’m getting the SPF that I want every day. Our lipsticks are fantastic, my favorite is the Twig Lipsheer for an everyday, polished, look. And I love the little bit of vanilla in the Lipsheers-they smell so good, and because they’re safe, you’re not eating lead and other heavy metals like most lipsticks are using. I’ll leave you with that this month. If you would like to try out any of our products, I’ll be happy to answer your questions, place your orders, or just talk about cleaning up your makeup bag, face – products, and body and hair products!
